Beijing Yingtelai Morgan Thermal Ceramics Textiles Co., Ltd (YMTT), is a new Joint Venture established in October 2006 between our local partner Yingtelai and Thermal Ceramics, a global business unit of Morgan Crucible (UK). Currently, we have a workforce of 125 members.

YMTT is the newest addition to our Chinese operations in the Asia Pacific region. The core product manufactured at this site range from high temperature insulating Textiles (made from AES fibre, Ceramic fibre and E-glass) which is for application in all industrial sectors. Textile product line includes:

- Yarn - Cloth - Tape - Ropes (twisted, braided) - Tubes

Other products manufactured by YMTT also include heat insulation and reinforcement friction materials used in automotive industry. In addition, we also design & produce fire proofing products and systems for building and construction sector. The Plant will continue to develop as we increase the value of global exports due to our in-house ability to supply Superwool Textiles of very high quality. In brief, it is all about insulating our world.

Dalian Morgan Refractories Ltd. (DMR), located in the coastal city of Dalian, was established in 1988 as the first Morgan manufacturing location in China. DMR, with a workforce of 76 employees, is one of our key plants in China and manufactures the full range of ®Tri-Mor castables, moldable and pre-casts. In 2007, Kaolite® range of lightweight castables, a globally recognized and approved brand by specifiers in CPI sector, was added to DMR’s manufactured products range.

DMR’s refractory products are by far the leading brands applied in key industries, such as, Iron & Steel (Blast Furnaces), foundry, aluminium, cement, and Boiler Plants in the Chinese local markets. With the expansion of Thermal Ceramics in Asia, the export potential for the products made in DMR has increased dramatically. The geographical coverage offered by our global network, has enabled growth in Europe and South East Asia markets, all of which are distributed by TC companies outside of China.

The success of DMR since its establishment is down to their management and employees. The teamwork displayed in DMR has been essential to its historical and future success. The R&D department has been strengthened and testing and research equipment has been installed to allow new product development to take place in-house. Our sales and technical service personnel, are academically trained in the relevant discipline, and are experienced in their area of responsibilities. The DMR team, consisting primarily of local Chinese nationals, is dedicated to the enhancement of their business and customer focused.

Morgan Kailong (Jingmen) Thermal Ceramics Co., LTD (MKTC) has been established since January 2005 and is our largest manufacturing facility for high temperature insulating fibre in Asia Pacific. It is an integral part of TC China Fibre Operations along with Morgan Thermal Ceramics Shanghai.

The plant, located in Jingmen City Hubei Province, has a total fibre production capacity of 12,000 tons and employs 256 personnel. The facility is fully equipped with spun and blown technology, a stand alone paper line, folded modules assembly line as well as vacuum forming (boards and shapes) processes. We are also capable of making special cut shapes (paper and felt) with our advanced CNC equipment imported from Europe, ensuring precision and quality.

Since its establishment, MKTC has been implementing continuous improvement to increase its productivity and further enhance its quality assurance systems. To ensure that both domestic and international quality expectations are met we have upgraded the existing laboratory by installing world class thermal conductivity testing equipment and online quality systems.

These improvements have led to substantial export opportunities for the facility to all our main geographical areas, including USA, Europe, Korea, Middle East and Asia. Further investment is taking place to increase output and efficiency, through capital expenditure and bench-marking with our global network. Recent developments include the production of renowned brands, such as Kaowool® and SuperwoolTM, hence enhancing the knowledge and the product portfolio availability in China.

Morgan Thermal Ceramics Shanghai CO., LTD (TC Shanghai) has been established since January 1997, a 100% foreign-owned company. Located in Kang Qiao Industrial Zone in Pudong, the plant has a production capacity of 5000 tons for high temperature insulating Fibre products using Thermal's Spun Technology.

Thermal Ceramics Shanghai is a vital part of our China Operations. Although, our business is orientated to domestic sales and distribution in China, our manufactured products have been sold to other countries via our global Thermal Ceramic network and have an excellent standard of quality and on time delivery.

Products Manufactured in Kang Qiao:

• Bulk (Cerafibre, Cerachem Fibre)
• Blanket (Cerablanket, Cerachem)
• In house Module facility (Z-Blok, Thermodule)

Another key attribute is the fact that Thermal Ceramics Shanghai is capable of providing the customers with a full range of premium and quality high temperature engineering solution, through design installation and commissioning for all industrial applications.

In 2005, Morgan Thermal Ceramics International Trading (Shanghai) Co Ltd (TC China) was set-up to provide:

1. integration of a single corporate approach to domestic customers in China;
2. a single source and solution provider for customer in design, engineering, installation and supply in project management;
3. local sourcing and supply to other TC companies outside of China.

Both companies currently employ some 77 personnel in Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales & Marketing as well as Procurement.

Yixing Morgan Thermal Ceramics Co., Ltd (YMTC), located in Dingshu town, Jiangsu province, is a joint venture established to manufacture high temperature insulating fire brick (IFB), completing Thermal Ceramics manufacturing footprint of all its core products in China as well as Asia Pacific region.

Since its establishment in September 2003, YMTC has expanded its IFB production capacity from a mere 3 million bricks to 9 million at the end of 2007, following various continuous engineering and technology improvement programs benchmarked from our global IFB facilities. The determination and entrepreneurial skills shown by our partners have been an outstanding force in generating improved sales and financial results. We currently recruit 283 employees spread over three manufacturing facilities.

In 2008, to capitalize on the industrial growth and demand in Asia Pacific region, we have boldly expanded our production capacity again, adding another 9 million bricks capacity in a new premise which includes automatic mixing and handling as well as a fully automatic finishing line. In addition, improved dust extraction and safety controls have also been installed. All these investments are our commitment to excellence quality control and assurance as well as EHS.

Our IFB, branded TJM, has been extensively used in various high temperature applications in industries such as CPI, Ceramics, Iron & Steel, Heat Treatment, etc, both in China and export markets through our TC Sales office worldwide. Further investment will be made to manufacture Blakite product in the near future.
