Systems are tested to many international standards and have approvals valid worldwide for Cellulosic, hydrocarbon and jet fire protection.
Not only is there a risk to human life, but also severe damage to the tunnel structure can occur, requiring extensive repairs or even causing collapse of the tunnel. The resulting disruption of transport links can cause serious economic or social problems such as increased traffic congestion, reduction in tourism, or damage to local businesses.
FireBarrier™ 135 is a refractory cement fire protection material specially developed for the high temperatures which can develop in tunnel fires. It can be applied by spraying or cast into sheets.
Unlike most other products used for tunnel fire protection, FireBarrier™ 135 is able to withstand repeated and prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Extensive testing has also proven FireBarrier™ 135 is resistant to environmental conditions found in tunnels and to water jet sprays used to clean tunnel linings. It will not spall when subjected to water hose sprays at high temperatures, providing safety for fire-fighting.
FireMaster® fire protection products are engineered to meet unsurpassed performance in a variety of aluminium, steel and composite bulkhead and deck structures, providing both cellulosic and hydrocarbon fire protection.
FireMaster® Marine PLUS Blanket is the new lightweight fire insulation from Morgan Thermal Ceramics that provides weight savings of up to 30% compared to standard FireMaster® blanket and traditional mineral fibre fire insulation products.
FireMaster® Marine PLUS Blanket has both DNV Type Approvals and EU MED Approvals for a wide range of steel, aluminium and composite fire-rated bulkhead and deck constructions for use in a variety of ship types. The product is also an excellent acoustic and thermal insulator. Certified systems available include:
- "A” class steel and aluminium bulkheads and decks
- High Speed Craft constructions built from 2mm aluminium plate
- 60 minute-rated composite sandwich panel bulkheads and decks
FireMaster® products have been providing for offshore platforms and chemical process plants fire protection for over 20 years with references in many major projects. Some of the typical applications include:
Fire Stops - Through-Penetrations and Construction Joints
Firestopping is an integral part of fire protection engineering. Firestop systems protect against the passage of flames, deadly gases and toxic smoke through openings that are created for penetrations, joints and gaps in fire-resistive walls, floors and floor/ceiling assemblies.
