Insulating Fire Protection Solutions for Marine

The Thermal Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials makes advanced ceramic materials, products and systems for thermal insulation and fire protection in high temperature environments. Our products are used extensively in marine applications to help protect people and equipment, and to improve the efficiency of processes by reducing energy consumption, emissions and operating costs.

The marine environment presents particular operational and safety challenges. Our thermal ceramic materials are routinely chosen to fulfil critical applications in ships including engine room insulation and deck and bulkhead fire protection because they are lightweight, robust and effective.

For example, we design and install rigid box insulation for marine engine rooms using our refractory ceramic fibre materials Kaowool®, Cerablanket® and Cerachem® and our unique low bio-persistence fibre material Superwool®. Our Firemaster® products are used to provide effective fire protection for ship decks and bulkheads.

Our products offer superior insulating and fire protection properties. They are lightweight, with excellent resistance to high temperatures, mechanical stresses and chemical attack for reliable operation and extended service life in a marine environment.

Our core strength is our ability to get to grips with individual customer problems, using our materials and our applications expertise to design, manufacture and install optimum, reliable thermal solutions. With manufacturing facilities and sales offices in more than 40 countries, we are able to complete marine thermal insulation solutions anywhere round the world. Contact us to discuss your application.
