Thermal Ceramics South Africa (Pty) Ltd was formed on the 5th of July 1996 by combining the existing Morganite Thermal Products, basically a distribution company of imported Group products, with Cumar Resistant Materials (Pty) Ltd, a manufacturing facility for Ceramic Fibre and Silicon Carbide products.

Thermal Ceramics South Africa (Pty) Ltd (TCSA) plays a leading role in the South African refractory industry, by offering locally produced, world renowned quality products, ably supported by our technically qualified Sales Engineers.

Located near Johannesburg the Plant manufactures RCF Fibre using Spinning Technology, Silicon Carbide pre-fired shapes (cast- and pressed) and Vacuum Formed Fibre Shapes. Its business is mainly orientated to domestic sales and distribution in Southern Africa and includes other Group Products being Insulating Fire Brick, Board, Pyrolog, Felt and Morgan Crucibles along with an electrical element agency for I2R Elements USA.

TCSA produces spun Ceramic Fibre Blanket to the Groups international quality standard, under the “Cerablanket” trade name. Silicon Carbide is produced under the Group’s “Morsil” standard.

TCSA is an SABS ISO 9001: 2000 accredited company.
